Weevils are frequently found not only in rice and grains but may also be present within unopened packaged foods. Weevils

Weevil are about 3-mm long dark reddish brown, with four pale spots on the upper surface. The granary weevil is slightly larger (4 mm), of the same body style and entirely dark chestnut-brown.

5 Methods to Prevent and Eliminate Grain Weevils:

1.  Before purchasing, check that food packaging is intact, avoiding items with holes or damage.
2.  Store all grains in airtight containers or vacuum-sealed bags. If necessary, keep them in the refrigerator.
3.  Regularly clean, especially cracks and corners, to prevent pests from breeding or spreading.
4.  Avoid overstocking food.
5. If weevils are found, identify the source and promptly dispose of infested food.
